March 5, 2021

Early Career Ocean Professionals take center stage

On this month’s episode of The Ocean Decade Show, Taylor’s expanding the universe of the Decade  and introducing new actors who have been central to the Decade’s planning efforts from 2017 through 2019 and are taking action now that the Decade is upon us - the Ocean Decade ecosystem is expanding! Early Career Ocean Professionals, or ECOPs, are making sure that intergenerational diversity is a central piece of the Ocean Decade, from mentions in the Decade’s Implementation Plan to their recent Programme Submission focused on the next generation of ocean leaders. Taylor’s joined by three of the ECOP founders - Alfredo Giron, Erin Satterthwaite, and Guillermo Ortuño Crespo to discuss the ECOPs foundation and their hopes for this transformational ocean effort.
