Six Senses Southern Dunes at Red Sea Project
Six Senses Southern Dunes, The Red Sea will be rooted in sustainability and desert hospitality. Working with architectural firm Foster + Partners, the resort looks to bring a reimaging of the lifestyle of those along the Red Sea trade routes, but in a modern and luxurious setting.
The heart of the resort is the Oasis. Inspired by a desert flower, the base structure is modular. A precast system that ensures the building only touches the ground lightly to leave most of the site undisturbed. With minimal paving to ensure the surrounding pathways remain natural and authentic.
The plan for the oasis is to gather activities and functions under one roof. Including the reception, lobby lounge, boutique, meeting spaces and prayer rooms, plus a community lounge and Earth Lab. The Artisan Village will host four pods to tell the story of the region’s history and cultural heritage through arts and crafts. The all-day dining restaurant is complemented by a chef’s table and cooking school. Along with a juice bar, brew bar, and water bar.
Numuja, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve
Nujuma, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve will be situated on the Red Sea’s Blue Hole cluster of islands. Surrounded by natural beauty and designed to blend with the environment, the resort is expected to feature 63 one-to-four-bedroom water and beach villas. Plans also include a range of amenities and exceptional services including a spa, swimming pools, multiple culinary venues, a retail area and a variety of other leisure and entertainment offerings including a Conservation Center.
Last year, Hotelier Middle East heard about regional COO Sandeep Walia’s vision for the brand’s debut in the region; how it fits into the Red Sea Project and his ambitions to spread the word about one of the world’s most exclusive hotel brands.
