Norwegian committee’s proposal would tax aquaculture 40%

A Norwegian parliamentary committee on the morning of Nov. 4 presented a 237-page report that lays out how it would suggest taxing the aquaculture industry there as much as 40%, Dagens Naeringsliv, a Norwegian newspaper, reports.

The traditional, accrued basic interest tax proposed is similar to one placed on the petroleum industry, according to the newspaper, and would contribute NOK 7 billion to the government.
