NJ - Anbaric welcomes new New Jersey offshore law

US transmission developer says legislation expands the definition of a 'qualified offshore wind project'

US transmission developer Anbaric has welcomed the signing into law of an offshore wind solicitation by New Jersey Governor Murphy that expands the definition of a “qualified offshore wind project”.

Anbaric said the law allows the Board of Public Utilities to bid projects specifically for open-access transmission, enabling wind generators to “plug into a planned, efficient system that delivers more energy with less risk while protecting the environment”.

Anbaric New Jersey president Janice Fuller said: “This new law makes tremendous progress toward creating efficient and successful transmission infrastructure to deliver wind energy generated off the coast of New Jersey to our electric grid.
