NC - Beach rentals evaporate amid coronavirus pandemic
If you were thinking about riding out the coronavirus pandemic at the beach, think again – unless you already own oceanfront property.
Beach town after beach town in the Wilmington area has now banned short-term rentals, which are generally less than 90 days. That comes after most of the towns have already shut public access to their beaches.
The reason for both moves is the same: to improve social distancing, which has been proven to be one of the best medicines to slow the spread of COVID-19.
Brunswick County has already seen a visitor, from Cleveland County, come down with coronavirus while vacationing at the beach. The person has remained in Brunswick until the required 14-day isolation period is over.
