Kitesurfer catches air for 19 seconds after freak gust of wind at World Cup event
That's a really long time to be airborne!
Italy's Airton Cozzolino beat his personal best at the Big Air competition during the Fuerteventura Windsurfing and Kitesurfing World Cup on Monday. Cozzolino caught a freak gust of wind leading to an impressive flight of 19 seconds.
Cozzolino said that the jump, his longest ever, made him so nervous that he subsequently crashed a lot during the following rounds. He finished in third place behind Australia's James Care and Cape Verde's Mitu Monteiro. See the video.
