A controversial dune walkover project is back up for discussion on Fort Myers Beach.

A pair of property owners on the south end of the island want to build it behind their homes at 8150 and 8170 Estero Boulevard. But wildlife advocates say it would harm protected birds.

Town leaders voted against the project in November. But on Tuesday, the property owners went back to Town Council asking them to reconsider it.
