FL - Coronavirus in Florida: Town of Palm Beach to close public beaches, county beaches to remain open for now

With no Disney and no school, and people avoiding malls, the beaches are packed, but some South Florida cities are closing those too.

Palm Beach County beaches offered a waning oasis of normalcy on Monday with coronavirus fears closing theme parks, shuttering schools and ratcheting up restrictions from Starbucks to state parks.

But how long that respite will last is unclear.

The Town of Palm Beach announced Monday it is closing its beaches beginning Tuesday — following the lead of spring break-harried Fort Lauderdale and Miami Beach.
