AIWA Announces National Meeting in Savannah Celebrating 20 Years of Advocacy for the Intracoastal Waterway
The AIWA - the Voice of the Waterway - is a national non-profit organization with the mission of securing funding and support for the maintenance of the AIWW (Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway). We are the only organization dedicated to ensuring the future of the AIWW and proudly represent all stakeholders of the waterway.
Savannah, GA, September 9, 2019 - The Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway Association will hold its 20th Anniversary Annual Meeting on November 21-22, 2019 in Savannah, Georgia. The AIWA is the nation’s only organization dedicated to ensuring the future of the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway (AIWW) and represents all waterway users through their mission to secure funding and support for the maintenance of the AIWW.
The conference brings together decision-makers and stakeholders to discuss issues impacting the waterway and will include representatives from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Coast Guard, NOAA, U.S. Department of Transportation and other governmental organizations. The attendees represent a broad spectrum of businesses providing a positive economic impact along the Atlantic seaboard, including commercial operators, dredging companies, shipyards, and marinas. The meeting provides a collaborative learning environment and participants will hear timely topics on the state of the waterway; the beneficial use of dredge material; engineering with nature and natural infrastructure; creating waterway access and much more.
